EastCoasters specializes in creating simple, functional, American made products from recycled rubber
that would otherwise pollute our east coast landfills.
When EastCoasters was just a concept, we procured enough material, a single 5-inch round die, and a rubber
mallet to manually produce 100 sample coasters. We sold our first two wholesale orders totalling 600 coasters
without a direct link to material supply, or the machinery and tools necessary to fill those orders. Born out of
necessity, we financed the required tools and machinery to produce the orders with what little credit we had
available to us. Since our inception in 2014, we’ve upcycled approximately 20 tons of rubber.
EastCoasters is run by a husband and wife team, Jason and Kaitlyn Mailot.
